Deb, according to the original posts it's a female, approx 2 months old. I'm thinking we can rule out the "already successfully bred her" line of thought.

..good catch...but if he can wait 15 days and try and get a refund, who's to say he won't wait two years?

I have to agree I see NO reason for this post at all Josh from Outback Reptiles went above and beyond your normal Customer Service and offerd a refund (even after 2 weeks)
You declined it (your choice)
I didnt see a vet report nowhere in any post inside of this thread
OutbackReptiles Has a great History and plenty of good post in the BOI (Just look them up)
What I see is someone who will probally never be happy with what he/she recives and looks for a reason to complain ( The reason here you seen 2 others going for less I seen the Kingsnake ad and it clearly stated the 2 had kinks and would make great pets)

keep in mind that the two that were posted on here with kinks were males. they would only sell for about $175 in perfect condition im guessing... at least that is how much ive seen males for. i know the females go for $300. i bought one of the males and i paid $120 shipped that would only be a $50 drop for males and so if you think about it even if the females price was lowered because of a kink you wouldnt save much anyhow. i think what needs to happen is for this tread to be left alone. you stated you wanted to keep her so why continue the thread. it is what it is.

hey guys, Josh is doing his part. trust me. the family will fall in love with the next one. they wouldn't keep it if it wasn't worth it. also, when do you know of a ghost having a genetic kink? its not a caramel. we as people who breed know that the family pet also don't make the best breeder 75% of the time. i am sorry. Josh is doing the right thing here. i have dealt with outback on man occasions and they are really good people to deal with. they have been honest with me if they thought there was a problem with a snake. they do have a keen eye for the problems snakes have. in other words they are no rookies. i do know a snakes quality very well and have been 100% satisfied with my purchases from them. don't ask for some money back. give them the snake back get your money back and get another one. trust me the family will fall in love with the next one to. i don't wanna seem one sided here but they are decent people who run a great business. they stand out like a sore thumb at the shows around here, why?, quality! and unbeatable prices. Josh dont own the business he is following their policy.

Mister Internet
After reading this thread, my opinion is that I'd very likely do business with a company that GOES OUT OF THEIR WAY to offer a FULL REFUND two weeks after the fact, sight unseen.

... and I wouldn't buy a bag of quarters from this buyer for a nickel. Unbelievable how some people are always trying to get something for nothing.

I agree, being that the OP will not take his pet to the vet shows that he is afraid he truely wont have a kink to stand on. And the fact that the pictures are so bad, shows he doesnt want to clearly show the problem he thinks he has. Although I have never done buisness with Outback, I would consider it. The offer to refund money is all that it took to convince me he would stand by his transactions.

By admission you are new to herps, so something about that pic and just had me thinking since you said it is over the vent. Is it possible the snake is impacted? That'd be if it ingested substrate with a meal, and definately should be taken to a vet. You've fed and it has defecated normally for you? If it is impacted, this is life threatening to be sure for the lil guy.

As far as Josh, he has offered to resolve this fairly. He is following his terms you should have been aware of before purchase. Without adequate proof of defect, you should take him up or forget it.

Josh seems a fair businessman. He protects his biz with terms designed to be fair and avoid the possible hustle one might pull which could very well be the case here.
Take that snake to the vet!! a $300 loved family pet is worth a $65 xray and $25 office visit.

I don't believe there are that many vets around here. I asked someone from around here said he never had to go to one wasn't sure. I have mentioned I have a appointment somewhere in here. The clinic I found the herp doc is only in on wednesdays. Its just a walk-in thing really. As far as the substrate we feed her in a paper bag unless she swallowed some for him. And for the food passing through she was a little constipated at first but she seems to be fine. I guess she was constipated had a pink belly. Soaked her in the tub and it seemed to relax her. Been about a week should do her stuff any day now i imagine.

If your family was as much in love with this critter as you say, you would have called all these vets by now to try to get answers and help for the critter. You haven't done that. You've spent considerable time here though trying to ruin the name of a seller who has offered you a refund.

BTW, I'm not sure I believe your claim above of having an appointment, exactly which vet/clinic was it that you made the appointment with?
