Non-Resident Collecting Question

Hello. New guy here with a question. I'm taking a family trip this weekend from Michigan to northern Georgia to see my Aunt, and my 12 year old autistic son really loves the outdoors. He's high functioning, athletic, and listens well, so I thought we might have a go at looking around for some snakes and lizards. I have been brushing up on some of the species, as well as their status on the endangered list there in the state, so my question is, what are the laws regarding keeping and transporting one, or is that out of the question? Just curious, just in case we found a nice one. We wouldn't be fooling around with anything venomous. Thanks.
