I was trying to decide if I should post this info or not. Then Clarence stopped posting for about a month, and I figured there was no point. However, I see that he is posting again so I figure it would only be right for me to put this information out there for you guys to view in the hopes that it can help you to make the best decision for yourself.
Please note - I am not saying that Clarence is a bad guy, but I have strong enough suspicions based on our interaction that I felt sharing our interaction would be appropriate.
After brief discussion I agreed to purchase a snake that he Clarence Campbell agreed to sell. He offered the snake for a price and I payed that price.
Clarence said he would ship on 10/21. I contacted him on 10/20 to check on shipping and he said he was out of town and that his brother was going to ship, but could he just ship on the 10/26 instead because his brother was "kinda weird!" I thought that was odd, since he had agreed to ship on Wed. the 21st but I let it go and said okay to shipping for Mon. the 26th.
On that Monday, he contacted me to say he could not ship until the following week because he was sick. Never mind the fact that I had already taken the morning off to be home when the snake arrived. But, okay things happen - maybe he was sicker than I could imagine. I did not respond until Fri. the 30th to confirm shipping for the following week. Clarence responded on Sun . Nov. 1 by saying he was still sick and it would probably be the next week but that he would give me a 50% het clown for the bother.
I told Clarence that I was becoming uncomfortable with the delays and asked if I could just get my money back on 11/1. On 11/5 I placed a paypal dispute as I was afraid that he might be attempting to stretch things out for 45 days so that paypal would not send my money back. He did not respond until 11/6 and simply said shipping would be on Monday 11/9, asked for my shipping address and in a later message asked me to remove the dispute.
I explained to him, with a detailed explanation of why, that I was not comfortable with that at this point but that if he shipped with a tracking number that paypal would remove the dispute and make his funds available or that I would be willing to take a refund at this point. Clarence said that he would just pay cash for shipping.
At this point I was afraid that my het snake may just be a normal that he was trying to pawn off and wished that I had not chosen to trust him, but provided that he shipped a female ball python comparable in size to what he said she was I was willing to finish the deal and just go on as if all was good.
However, 4 hours after Clarence sent me a message on faunclassifieds saying that he would pay cash for shipping he sent me a message on paypal through their dispute center saying "i have told you to take off the hold and i will send the snake ... take it off today ill send tomarow ... i need this money to pay for the shipping ... ed"
A this point I felt certain that something was not right. Shipping had been delayed 3 times for what seemed like reasons that could be overcome, and now he was sending me messages that conflicted with one another.
Clarence engaged in no further contact and never agreed to refund the money or cooperated in any way with the paypal investigation. In the end I did get my money back by way of paypal, but I also had to wait until they completed their investigation with no cooperation on his end.
Even if he did actually intend to ship, it would have been at least 19 days after the date that he originially agreed to do so, and with very little respect for the schedule of the buyer. This was at best a continuously poorly handled business deal, and I suspect that it was worse than that.

1. That way if I am not home at their exact delivery time it won't be a big deal.
2. She does not have to bounce around in the truck for hours and
3. I can go pick her up

The address that I provided is the UPS location from which she would be delivered to me. So you would still need to use my Vega Ct. shipping address even if I picked her up from UPS. They just said that someone on your end had to request that the package be picked up at UPS rather than delivered to my home. Even if they say you have to have her sent to my 4913 address it is oaky. I'll work it out no matter what.

I'm not gonna lie to you. I'm starting to feel pretty uncomfortable with the deal since this will be the third week in a row that shipping has been delayed, and the weather is turning cooler every day - making shipping that much more difficult.
Is there any way I could just get a refund - since you can't ship?

Man, I don't want to sound like a jerk, but here is my exact situation. I have been scammed before and here is how they did it:
1. I paid for an item, and shipment continued to be delayed for various reasons
2. I placed a hold on the money at which time delivery was promised with a little extra for my wait.
3. I was then asked to release the money so that they could pay for shipping.
4. When I did release the money, they immediately transferred it out of their paypal account. So, when they still did not ship there was no longer any money to place a hold on and try to get back.
5. I lost my money and never got my item.
If you ship the snake with a tracking number, when delivery is confirmed paypal will automatically release the funds with or without my permission.
Given the scenario that I have been through before and how incredibly (though hopefully) coincidentally similar it is to our scenario if you can't ship until I release the funds I gonna have to ask that you just give me a refund.

Now he says that he will not ship until I release the funds. This item wass originally supposed to be shipped on Oct.22 at which time the seller said he would not be able to ship becasue he was out of town. He only told me this after I contected him. He then delayed shipping that he agreed to for October the 20th saying he was ill. Athis time he said he could ship on the following Mon. (10-27) On that date he again sent a message stating that he was still ill. I replied, and when I recieved no return reply I placed a dispute on the transaction. On Fri 11-7 he contacted me stating that I needed to releas the disputed monay so that he could use it for shipping. I explained to him that I could not as I thought he might be trying to scam me at this point, and his reply was that he would just pay cash to ship today 11/10. Now he has sent a message through the paypal resolution center saying that he cannot ship until I release the money. I have extensive time dated forum messages through private message in faunaclassifieds to confirm all of this.
