Female Lavender

Not sure if this is the right place to post this message since it relates to animal sales, but since it's not a wanted or for sale post, I'll take a chance.
Also, the name of the seller will not be posted here, I'm only seeking for opinions and suggestions.

I purchased a pair of lavender corns, and the female has severe kink near the cloacal area. It's not possible for me to send the animal back. How much do you think I should pay for the animal, if anything? I have personally never sold a kinked animal, and didn't even think it was possible to sell them, but now it seems I have to pay for one.

How much would a small 2004 kinked female lavender be worth? I have my own opinion on it but would like yours.

Thank you for your help.

sometimes kinked animals can be sold as pets, as long as they are functioning normally, but the seller should make it known that the animal has a kink.

if you were after a potential breeder, and received a kinked animal...it's not really worth anything to you then.

Absolutely correct.

If you were looking for a breeder and the kink is anterior to the vent, it's pretty much worthless. If the kink is posterior to the vent, then it may simply be an injury or perhaps an incubator induced deformity.

Can you post a picture of her?

The kink is anterior to the vent, it really isn't on the tail. I purchased the pair in order to get the female and add her to my breeding group. It was sold to me as a flawless animal, and I did ask to specify that it was since other animals from the same clutch where kinked.

I know the animal is worthless to me, and even if someone would tell me I can breed it anyway because it may only be an incubation problem, I wouldn't. I 've had ocasional kinked animals hatch myself, most due to a bit dry incubation. I normally euthanize them unless it's a minor tail kink in which case I give them away as pets, so I'm quite uncomfortable paying for an animal like that, but not everybody has the same buisness policies. Now I need to figure out how much an animal like that is normally worth.

Thank you for your help.

If you SPECIFICALLY asked about tail kinking and were told there were none, then you should NOT have to pay for it.

If there were others in the bunch that had kinks, while it could be due to incubation, it is most likely genetic, and you probably should have passed.

At this point it would be good of you to let us know who this person is that is, apparently, passing off genetically healthy snakes that are not.

If they are willing to, they should take the pair back at THEIR cost, you should not be paying shipping EITHER way, if they were misrepresented originally.
