Red face Housing Question :)

Hello! We just moved Jakers to a ten gallon tank tonite! So hes out of that little Critter Keeper. I am not sure though? He is about 14 inches, and all he has in their is his water bowl, and the Natural Tree Bridge we bought for him, but there is still a lot of space! I think I remember people saying that I could keep him in a ten until he gets bigger. Is the extra space ok? Should I put him back, or maybe buy another hide to fill up some space? I know he will like all that extra dirt for burrowing though! Thats the first thing he tried to do when we put him in! Advice appreciated! Thank You!

Congrats on the upgrade. I'm sure Jakers is very pleased. It certainly wouldn't hurt for you to add another hide or even some artifical foliage. Why not post a picture?

Ok

Exactly what kind of artificial foliage. I only know about using that stuff with my Betta. How would I keep it upright? Maybe some pictures would help. Thank You!

LOL, they have artificial plants that look just like houseplants, or various tropical plants, or cacti.....usually mounted on a heavier base. They stand up all by themselves.

I would put another hide in there for him, I always try to keep one hide on the warm side and one on the cool side so they can choose their temp without sacrificing security.

I notice you said he's burrowing in the dirt? Aspen shavings or something similar make a much better substrate, and it's easier to clean as well.
