I hadn't heard anything about it, but I did some looking after reading your post. Rich Ihle has been working with them. There's a youtube video posted a few months ago showing a guy receiving a male and female scoria. I believe he was in Canada. In the video he says it is an incompletely dominant trait, though I can't say how accurate that is. The link for the video is here:
