Rock Star Reptile
Try being here. they do not allow "live" packages to be shipped at one UPS. Then at another they allow reptiles to be shipped but no snakes. I had argued and said a snake is a reptile!!!!!
These rules at diffrent locations drive me nutts. So needless to say I only ship geckos now Cause they are reptiles that are not snakes..

The problem is, UPS has written policy which clearly states no snakes, so you were fighting a losing battle. Depending on what you were shipping, you might have had some success with the place that wouldn't take "live" packages...but, if the contents were other than what their policy states is allowed, it wouldn't have been worth the trouble to try.

Question for the experts. You are correct that UPS has a policy which prohibits shipping snakes. Below is a copy/paste from their website.

Given that - how can ShipYourReptiles.com be "UPS Approved" and do this every day? Do they just "assume" that any package shipped through them is a reptile from the approved list (i.e., lizards) and have a "no questions asked" policy?

it is my understanding that shipyourreptiles.com has a contract through ups allowing them to ship snakes.

Its all to problematic for me. I became a certified fedex live animal shipper about 5 months ago and though its a long process i have to say it was a great idea and the price is normally a few dollars less than shipyourreptiles.com once you become certified cause you get a very large discount for becoming certified.
