A few North MS Herps Over The weekend....

In our travels around north MS, we always come across various species of cool stuff here and there, and have a habit of keeping the camera handy.... These are all specimens from Panola County, near the Sardis Reservoir backwaters, the name of the boardwalk that goes out over a swamp is Clear Springs, and it is an interesting locale to pick up specimens to photo, and release. Banded Water Snakes
Yellow Bellied Water snake
Cottonmouths
E. Ribbon Adult Male
Blue Racer
Black Racers
Speckled Kings
Black Rats
Bullfrogs
Gray Treefrogs
Green Treefrogs
Cricket Frogs
Several other rana species
Spring Peepers
3 lined slamanders
Marbled salamanders

Here's a Shot of the blue racer....

Nice animal, for sure, just basking in a ditch on the drive over..... It was actually pretty amazing, he did not struggle or try to bite while being photographed, was kind of unusual....

A shot of Clear Springs trail

Lastly,

A shot of the eastern ribbon we picked up just crossing the boardwalk, he's a big adult male (about 3.5' in length) and a beutiful animal all in all, very curious little guy! Thanks for looking, hope you enjoyed the pics! Happy Herping all! -Eric Lago *MS Reptilian Hobbyists*
