Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

How are the IRBA shows in CA...specifically, the upcoming Del Mar?
I'm planning to go to Del Mar next week and was wondering if anyone has an idea how big it will be or who will be there. The IRBA site does not say, and it wasn't updated until just recently. I'll email them, but if anyone has experiences, I'd love to hear your opinion(s).
I'm particularly interested in geckos, but any input would be appreciated.
Thanks

I went to the IRBA in pomona in december and it was really cool. Alot of booths. From what I hear, Del Mar is even larger so it should be very good. as far as who will be there, i don't know. I had the same problem as you as far as trying to find out via the IRBA site.

Years ago I use to go to the San Diego ones, they use to be the shizznit, but I have heard that it was going downhill the past couple years, and may even be the reason for the move to Del Mar(smaller venue? don't know if it is). So I don't know first hand, but apparently the Pomona ones are getting better. Have never been to one there, but I'm going to hit at least one of those this year.
Not a Gecko person, so don't know if that would make a difference, either
Guess I'm not much help on the question, unless the reason for the move to Del Mar is because of less participation.
Maybe someone has been to both shows the last year or two.

I've been going to the San Diego show for years and most of them are pretty good. Not sure why Ray changed the venue to Del Mar but it could be the San Diego show Is In an old building in a bad part of town. Del Mar should be a much nicer place to visit. Parking sucked at the old place and all the homeless people kind of bugged me.

I go to the IRBA shows regularly in both San Diego and Pomona. The move from the old show hall downtown though is because renovations are being planned/work done at the old show site. I've attended many events at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and like the change myself, it's a lot nicer location and should have a lot more "elbow" room.

How do they compare, as far as numbers and/ or quality of vendors? I'm going to try to attend at least one of the shows this year, if 2 or more trips are feasible, I'll go to one of each, but if it looks like only one trip this year I need to pick between the 2. Haven't been to the SD show since 2001 and have never been to the Pomona show.
