I am a student at Le Moyne College in up state NY. I am soon to propse the Start of a Herp Club, in hopes to pass another proposal to allow reptiles to be kept in dorms. I have covered many loop-holes, * no tank larger than 20gals.
* Limits on certain species * Inspections of cages * Etc.

If you have any good arguements for me to add or limitations to add to the proposal as to why we should be able to keep reptiles in the dorms, please let me know. Thanks

They have left them in the dorms. spam_(Not sure if they loose interest, or cant take them back home with them because of there parents.) At any rate we end up with allot of the abandoned reptiles. spam_Just a word of caution and something to think about.

The biggest problems that school dormitories have with reptiles is feeding. I am near Ohio State University (former student... I'll admit.. I snuck a bearded dragon into the dorms.. hehee) They are against having reptiles that need live prey (crickets, mice, worms, flies..etc..etc.). I have found a loophole for omnivores (just don't let them see you bring the crickets in) and herbivores.

The biggest problem with selling to students is the large abuse rate of these animals, improper care and abandonment when their parents say "you can't bring that home with you". This is not to say you or your club members will do this, but when you open the rules to allow anyone to bring them into the dorms, I see more harm then good being done.
