Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Breeders Vs. Pet Owners
Hello all,
I just wanted to know how many people on this forum are breeders or actual pet owners. I believe there is a difference:
Many people post on this forum and ask about care and husbandry but I think there is a difference if you're a breeder or if you just like having leos as pets. For example, I don't know any pet owners that like keeping their leos on newspaper or paper towels in their tanks since it is not aesthetically pleasing. Nor do they want to place a tub of butter in the tank and use it as a humid hide. All of my friends like to show off their terreriums with fake plants, rocks, slate, rock caves, tile and so on. I think that quality of care in our leos are the same but I just wanted to know how many of you like having decorated tanks as opposed to bins, hence the title Breeders Vs. Pet owners.
Just so you know, i'm not knocking anybody on how they keep their lizards. Afterall, the health of a leo is obviously first and foremost regardless of aesthetics.

Breeder and pet owner.... I have quite a few leos in racks and tubs, but have a couple that are is a nice tank with a totally natural looking environment. My cresties are in a BIG time rainforest.... we had a long and sometimes contentious debate on this subject on my community site for Atlantic Canadian Reptile Owners... its interesting to see everyones views and how passionate they can become!

Both!!! I'm a professional breeder that keeps my hatchlings/juveniles on paper towels in racks, but all of my breeding colonies are in naturalistic vivariums with fake cactus, boulder caves, driftwood, cholla, etc.

Pet owner,,, but I did breed my oldest gecko for sentimental reasons. I was hoping to dabble in breeding next season but the leo market is just so saturated, I have decided to hold off for now. All of my leos are now in Vision cages, but then again, I only have 8 right now.

That is an awesome setup! Is it a premade piece turned custom, or did you custom make it, order it?

I am an owner, maybe one day a breeder. I already have the incubator, but I am putting off breeding until I have more money. I am also kind of a wimp, and afraid my females will rip my males apart, they are kind of umm, psycho. I keep my leos on papertowel, soon to be tile. Almost all of my hides are very obviously not realistic. Mainly due to the fact that I haven't had the money to purchase them natural hides, and the coffee cans I use seem to be their favorites. I care less for the aesthetics and more about their health. That's my two cents.
