"Those Animal Guys" delivered them to someone in Florida who happens to breed Toucans, as a "thank you" "Those Animal Guys" stole some of his Toucans before returning to Mich. at which time I guess they posted pictures of their "booty" on their website??

yes ...The toucans were returned to the grateful woman down in Florida a some weeks past. Mark Rosenthal working with the police went on the raid to the house of animal guys. Most of the Michigan reptiles and spiders have been returned to the rightful owners and those animal guys are now wearing prison chastity belts

Actually I was thinking the same thing.

Stolen Tortoises! These leopard tortoises were stolen from the Birch Run Wilderness Trails wildlife park. They were on loan from Mid-Michigan Reptile Rescue. Please watch for these tortoises to be sold or dumped in the MI-OH-IL-IN area.

***UPDATE*** The tortoises have been found! The individuals who stole them sold them to an individual in Arizona, and we're currently raising the money to have them shipped back to Michigan - please contact us at stephanie@michiganreptilerescue.org if you care to donate to this cause!

More court dates coming for Genesee County residents charged in exotic animal thefts

GENESEE COUNTY, Michigan -- Court dates continue to pile up for a Flint Township couple and a Mundy Township man charged in an exotic animal theft scheme that stretched to Florida.

While their alleged partner, Joshua Roberts, remains free on bond, Adam and Julie Lock are locked up in county jails -- Adam in Saginaw and Julie in Wayne.

Police said November raids on their homes resulted in the discovery of nearly 70 stolen exotic animals, including a Brazilian parrot, a wallaby and kinkajou.

In the weeks after the raids, charges have been sought in several communities, including;

• Flint Township, where police allege Roberts hid inside a Petco store on Miller Road last October and, along with Adam Lock, stole $10,000 worth of flea and tick medicine.

-- Bridgeport Township, where Roberts and Adam Lock allegedly broke into a zoo and stole several tortoises and other animals.

• Sumpter Township, where the owner of an animal sanctuary said police compiled a 71-page report alleging Roberts and the Locks broke in and stole numerous animals.

• Livonia, where the three face charges in connection with break-ins at two pet shops.

The trio also face criminal charges in Florida where the Marion County Sheriff's Department intends to seek extradition.

A woman there claims someone stole six toucans, including four that were valued at $12,500 each.

Four of the birds were found during the November raids and the Locks and Roberts now face felony theft and burglary charges in Florida.

The same woman who reported her toucans stolen told police she had purchased some of the tortoises, unaware that they were stolen.

Prior to their arrest last year, Roberts and Adam Lock had partnered together for an animal exhibition group called "Those Animal Guys."

The pair's notoriety helped Flint Township police identify them in the Petco burglary after workers recognized the pair on surveillance video taken shortly before the store closed for the night.

Roberts was allegedly seen walking into the store wearing black clothing that matched that of a man wearing a ski mask who set off a motion detector after the store closed.

Township police believe Roberts and Adam Lock needed flea and tick medicine for all of the stolen animals.

"They took the whole display," said Flint police Sgt. Gene DuBuc.

Roberts has pleaded guilty in the Flint Township case and is scheduled to be sentenced March 11. Adam Lock has not been arraigned yet because he has been jail.

A trial date for Roberts in the Livonia case is set for March 18 while a Wednesday hearing in that case is set for the Locks in Wayne County.

GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN -- A Mundy Township man who stole flea and tick medications from a Flint Township store, allegedly to give to exotic animals he and two co-defendants stole from the Detroit and Saginaw areas, was sentenced to 11 months jail and five years probation.

Joshua D. Roberts, 25, also must pay $7,500 restitution to the Petco store.

Genesee Circuit Judge Joseph J. Farah also placed Roberts on five years probation and ordered him to spend a year in jail for stealing golf clubs and other items April 21 from Seiferts Golf Plus in Mundy Township.

In that case, Farah ordered him to pay $31,800 in restitution, fines and costs.

Roberts earlier pleaded guilty to breaking and entering in both cases.

Roberts, who works for DL Roberts, his father's construction company, will be granted work release, but not until June 1, Farah said.

"He's got a long way to go on this restitution," Farah said.

Police and prosecutors said Roberts and Adam D. Lock, a co-defendant, broke into the Petco store on Oct. 12 and took thousands of dollars worth of flea and tick medicine.

Lock, 24, of Flint, has an April 7 pretrial scheduled before Farah in the break-ins.

No one from Seiferts or Petco were in court Tuesday for the sentencings.

But assistant Genesee County Prosecutor George DeMeo asked Farah to send him to jail "for the amount of havoc they caused."

Farah said the golf club thefts "ruined" the company's business for the summer, according to a report.

"This was a very calculated effort," Farah said of the thefts.

DeMeo said Roberts had been on probation for an earlier conviction.

Sterling Heights attorney Thomas J. Tomko, who represented Roberts, said his client has other cases pending involving the theft of exotic animals, but said he was not the leader.

Roberts apologized, saying he has made mistakes.

Tomko said Roberts is facing a March 17 sentencing in three Wayne County cases involving stolen animals.

Roberts and Julie Lock of Flint Township have agreed to plea deals in those cases.

Roberts, Lock and Lock's husband, Adam, still face extradition to Florida to face charges involving stolen toucans.

Roberts and Julie Lock also face charges in Saginaw County, but Tomko said he is in negotiations with prosecutors there to resolve the case.

Adam Lock's case in Wayne County is ongoing.

Thanx for the update Dennis! It is nice to see some serious consequences for these scum after C. Johnson apparently got away with all the stuff he did.
