Caiman with eye problems....Opinions please

I cam home today and noticed this. Theres nothing in his eye that I can tell but it looks to be infected, pretty badly. It looks as if the clear eye lid has gotten infected but Im not exactly sure. It covers up when he closes his eyes. Im corious to know what kind of treatment I should try. Normally I can figure these kinds of things out on my own but snake eyes aren't the same as caiman eyes. I'd like some opinions before I try anything.

I would think that a vet visit is in order. If it is infected they will probably give you an antibiotic you can put in the eye a few times a day. If it is an infection it should clear up with out a problem. Keep us posted.

I have to agree with Kelly in that a Vet visit will be needed. I have not dealt with caimans as of yet so I can't tell you what to do or what I think it is, but if you already feel it is infected then it would be a good idea to have your caiman checked. If it is nothing too serious a good ophthalmic antibiotic drops for several days might do the trick and your Vet should be able to choose a good one for you.
