Question Regarding Recycling Substrate for Reptiles

Would it be safe to recycle substrate through baking in an oven for sterilization as long as I spot clean the enclosure? If not, which reptiles would need new substrate?

Sand is usually safe to reuse and easy to clean. Use a natural sand though.

I "recycle" natural mulch substrate by dumping it on my vegetable garden. The reptiles get brand new stuff.

I agree with the others. Unless you are using some ridiculously expensive substrate, it isn't worth reusing. Even if it was, I doubt that spot cleaning and baking would sufficiently refresh it.
