As for the stumpy geckos, I don't want one.

But, as long as they're healthy and it's genetic, they fall into the same category as munchkin cats and the myriad dog breeds incorporating various physical defects.

As long as they're honestly represented...

WTF is a merle?

I was at Wrestlemania XXI tonight and this is better than some of the matches I saw there.

I seriously would not breed that gecko. I have a 'stumpy' tail gecko like that that we hatched out a couple years ago. She's a SHCT and beautiful, and I'm 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 % sure it's not a genetic defect, but I'm really concerned about her health if she were to breed. Not only is her tail super short like this one's, but her hips appear to be affected by the deformity. So, I'm afraid that if she were laying eggs, she'd have trouble passing them and possibly hurt her somehow. She's one of the sweetest geckos we've ever had, tons of personality, but not to be bred.

I'd suggest that yahoo who wants to breed her get an X-ray to make sure she's not goin to be hurt by the process, first. Then, who'd want a deformed gecko, anyway? They're like they are in nature (not talking aesthetics here), for a reason....it works! We can protect a white or orange, or albino gecko in captivity, so it's not a big deal, but can we help her when she's got an egg stuck or ruptured because her pelvic bones are compacted with her tail? NO!

I hate idiots.

Anyway, that's enough of a rant for tonight...I guess I got a little fired up with the wrestling today (by the way, I'm not a big fan anymore, like when I was 10, I just happened to win tickets)

Also, WTF = What the Fudge

At any rate...as far as merles...it's kinda hard to describe...I'll just link to a couple photos... here's a blue merle... http://www.australianshepherds.org/rio.html ...here's a red merle... http://www.australianshepherds.org/tedipup.html

I never understood people's fascination with wrestling...I can't stand it...I leave the room anytime my dad turns it on when I'm at home....lol

At any rate...here are a few homozygous merles...

As you can see there is a big difference in appearance between these guys and the blue and red I linked to before (who have very typical markings).
