Question Problems feeding garters

Hello everyone,
Hoping someone can help me. I bought a large breeding group of
Iowa plains. My male albino and the three young ones in the group are eating like champs. My two het females, both very large and fat and one breeder said is possibly gravid will not eat for me. I have tried fish, scented fuzzies and pinks, and chicken. They both are very alert and drinking and acting normally. Should i be concerned? Any suggestions? Thanks for your time.
Lou

Something that almost always worked for me was letting a live fish flop around in front of them. Also, make sure the snakes are at the proper temperatures and are not stressed (they have their own hiding spots, aren't handled or looked in on too often, and have the right humidity.) I wouldn't be worried if they are healthy and fat... a snake can go for months without food.

Every garter snake I've ever had goes wild for worms. This is one of their most natural prey. Night crawlers are easily obtained from fishing bait sources. If slugs are native to your location (I think they are not) they are also a great source of feeding material. In Washington slugs make up a huge percentage of garter diets. Worms, slugs, and fish make for messy cages though!
