Interesting weather forecast site

Heck, I could use this as a soothing screen saver.

And it gives some really interesting insight as to what is going on with the weather. Check it out. They are predicting a hurricane to blow up in the western Gulf of Mexico during the weekend.

Very cool site, thank you! I find tropical storms and winds fascinating and have even taken some of the National Weather Service spotter courses to learn more.

Meant to add that the NWS has most of these storms figured out by virtue of their origin point and one can guess with better than even chances where it might go on the day they declare it a tropical storm. There is one of three major tracks that almost every big storm takes and the historic graphic overlays show probable paths very clearly.

If you follow the predictions on that tropical storm out off of the coast of Africa, it looks like it could get serious for the east coast of the USA. They are predicting category 5 winds associated with that storm system.

Storms like that make me very glad there's a mountain range between me and the coast. If I flood, the rest of y'all will need an ark.

I guess that's how they advertise coastal land development sales all up and down the eastern seaboard:

"Three hundred and sixty four days of beautiful weather."

Leaving out that possible day a category five hurricane makes landfall in your neighborhood.
