Fieldherpers.com????

Anyone know why fieldherpers.com has been shut down/not working? My hypothesis is that it was forced to shut down because of litigation.

Could you give us an overview and history of Fieldherpers? Can you tell us some interesting things about its politics and what troubles it has been having? Thank You!

Really they have been. I was just talking to a friend about that site. We were saying cool site but I hated that format for the forums. lol.........

If anyone knows what happen please post it.

I used to go there quite often, but being a political junkie, I could not stay off the World Politics forum, and the liberals there were saying things there so completely stupid, it made my hair hurt. So, I had to wean myself off of the forum entirely!

The forum was established about a year ago, when KS had all of its banning issues. One fellow, Gerry Benzcik (sp?), was banned for was seemed to be a suspicious reason. Many, including myself, were then banned when we wanted to know what was actually going on. Then Christian (the founder of fieldherpers.com) started his site, and many of the former posters on KS's fieldherping forum, including me, went there instead.

What has happened in the last few weeks, I have no idea, but there has always been a serious division in the way people viewed a variety of issues over there. Maybe it just imploded, and maybe Christian is just on vacation and shut it down for a while. (?????)

It appears to be back up and running again. I wonder what all the trolls have been doing all week with it down?

Sending donations in to "Save Air America" and "MoveOn.org" would be my guess!

This thread is pretty old. Well I wanted to let anyone else who is curious, know that the fieldherpers site has been re-established with a new owner (ME!) The way it looks will be changing as we've got a new format and the way it was run in the past will be different. Christian did his best and decided it was time to move on, so he handed the site to me. Feel free to take a look! Today the server will be moved so if the old forums still show up for you, wait a few hours or visit the next day. Thanks!
