Trio Tropodiphorus baconi Salawasi water skinks, proven female
0.1.2 Trio of Tropodiphorus baconi aka indoneasian or salawasi water skinks. Rarerly available.
3 1/2 year LTC.
1 wild caught , tip of tail regenerated( definate female )and 2 captive born .
I am not 100 % on the sex of the siblings but I think they are 1 male and 1 female,
not guaranteed as these skinks are difficult to sex.
I have had the female for 3 1/2 years, the siblings were born when I acquired her 3 1/2 years ago in captivity.
1 definate female which gave birth to the 2 siblings.
These skinks are live bearers, give birth to live babies, so no eggs to incubate.
These skinks are semi aquatic so a large water tub to soak in or half land half water tank set up is required.
Set up like red eyed croc skinks with a large water tub 1/3-1/2 the enclosure.
These skinks spend approximately 60% of the day in water.
When misting the enclosure they will venture out of thier hides and begin to search for food.
Tropical habitat, temps 70-75 night to 85- 90 daytime
They do not tolerate handling very well and are a skidish species, not recommended as a beginner reptile.
The siblings should be ready to breed now at 3 1/2 years old.
I keep them in separate enclosures so I have not attempted to breed them.
Feeding on small to medium earthworms, roaches and crickets.
$300 shipped for the trio
Or
$125 each shipped
In the continental 48 states US only.
