5 Libyan Greek tortoises (Testudo graeca cyrenaica)
Spring culling continues here. Available are 5 captive born and bred Libyan tortoises
(Testudo graeca cyrenaica) from 2018.
I did not produce these, but they are one of the rarest Greek tortoise subspecies out there. In American collections, only the Tunisian and Anamuram Greeks beat them in rarity. Adult Libyans were imported in the early 2000s and nearly all have died to date. Captive bred babies are the way to get started with them.
Adults average between 5 and 7.5". They bear a bell shaped carapace with a significant arch to it. The ground color is a gorgeous yellow and the shell is covered with varying degrees of dalmatian-like spotting. As the babies grow, the black pigment of the carapace begins to break up into the dalmatian spots. Truly a stunning Greek tortoise.
They are flawless across the board. Perfectly smooth growth, no extra or split scutes with rock solid shells. Their current weights are 40, 43, 44, 44 and 41 grams which puts them well out of the fragile hatchling stage. Feeding on mazuri, natural weeds, hibiscus, curly endive, escarole, spring mix and dandelion.

I have no idea on sex but hopefully there is a male or two in this group.
