What species is appropriate for my cage?
Long story short I am getting a free cage from where my g/f works. She works in a store that sells some cosmetics and the backstock was formerly kept in a wood and wire cage with a padlock on the front to keep employees from pilfering stock. She told me yesterday that her boss said she can take this thing. It's about 7' tall, 4' wide and 2' deep. It has screened sides and a solid bottom, if deep substrate is needed I can build the sides up a little. Obviously because of the height an arboreal species would be best. Due to the depth a smaller species would be best. What are my choices for smallish, arboreal monitors that will fit in that footprint. Also, keep in mind that I am new to monitors but not new to herps. I should be fine with most easy to moderate species I would imagine provided I have good info on care requirements. Please recommend proper care for any species you recommend or at least a link to a good profile.
Thanks!
Ps- You think I'd let something like that go to waste!
