CT Residents just got screwed!

Thanks USARK. I brought this pending legislation to your attention months ago. My voice was obviously ignored but yours was completely absent!
Effective March 1st, all of these animals are now banned in CT with no grandfather clause. Any of these animals have to be surrendered to the state on March 31st to the Dept of Energy and Environmental Protection who will be at Beardsley Zoo!

Here is my post back in Nov in the USARK forum when I was notified by the DEP of the impending changes to the laws.

Yeah. Chaco Goldenknee and Emperor Scorpion. Both make excellent presentation animals. Or at least they did.

wow! this is ridiculous. North Carolina made several changes a couple years ago and at the time it seemed horrible but looking at what all the other states are either doing or purposing things are looking pretty good here. wish some of the other states that are making all these ridiculous laws would look at some of the other states that have passed reasonable laws that are working just fine.

Another thing the DEP completely ignored is that dart frogs loose their toxicity in captivity. It comes from what they eat in the wild. When in captivity, they do not have access to that food source so they are nothing more than pretty frogs.

DEP ignores all logic and reasonable possibilities.
