NEIL, as a former police officer my suggestion would be to meet with the officers that have your place of business in their sector. I would also take a trip and speak to the Captain of the preceinct where your store is. Front breaks are inexcusable and basically means that patroling is being ignored especially since their is a history or being targeted. I seriously doubt that these thevies are pet store specialists but apparently hawk out your inventory. Having a guard dog is also an excellent deterrant. Sorry for your loss. JERRY TRESSER

Neil, so sorry about your loss.  May I suggest taking a look at www.x10.com.  They have a large assortment of surveillance and monitoring equipment at very reasonable prices, including ProtectorPlus Voice Dialer, which has screaming sirens and flashing lights and automatically calls 4 phone numbers you choose ($100).  Also, FloodCam with motion sensor and capability to video record an intruder ($80), as well as the usual tiny video cam equipment for shoplifting monitoring.  They have pretty good advisors in their customer service department, too.  

Secrecy is important, of course, so if you install such items, the fewer people who know how to access control over them (via your computer), the better.  The computer could be in a locked room with a motion sensor/video cam over the door.

I hope not. If this gets swept under the rug then we have helped the thieves get away with it. If your store or home were robbed would you want everyone to forget about it?

There was several robberies in the Tampa area and those shop keepers lost alot I am sure that they do not want us to get over it. I for one would love to find the person or persons that did this and see them behind bars. Nobody wants to open old wounds but rather close a bad chapter in the reptile trade and that will never be done until those crooks are in jail.

The webslave has a report that may not hold all the answers but I am certain that it has some or most of them. No disrespect towards the webslave but post the dang thing we have been waiting for months and we have been promised by you but still you have not posted it. You gave us your word months ago that you would post it granted if there is a legal reason why you have not posted the report then by all neans tell us. I hope that you practice what you preach because everyone here has been waiting to see the P.I. report as you promised.

He promised to post it when he felt it was appropriate. &nbsp;He did not give any kind of time frame and it is totally up to the Webslave's discression when/if he posts that report. &nbsp;

Again, I think we should all let this thread worm its way back to the bottom of this site. &nbsp;This will be my final post in this beast.

Please explain to me why I have to explain anything, or justify what I do, to you. &nbsp;You are obviously a newcomer here, so I seriously doubt you had anything to do with donating to that fiasco a year or so ago. &nbsp;So why exactly do you believe that ANYTHING is owed to you?

And does any one of you really believe the report is going to solve all the issues? &nbsp;Remember, Crowley said it was incomplete because he stopped getting paid before he was finished his investigation. &nbsp;He offered to put this entire thing to bed for another $1,000, but I refused to throw good money after bad. &nbsp;He actually wrote this report after I had to goad him to do so, and knowing he was going to try to wring more money out of me to complete the investigation. &nbsp;So do you REALLY think there are going to be any satisfactory conclusions stated in it?

And yes, I am a man of my word in my business. &nbsp;When someone buys animals from me, I am obligated to give them the best service I can and live up to my word.

However, THIS site is NOT a business venture for me. &nbsp;This is a FREE public service that I started on a whim and continue to run because I am probably not wrapped too tight. &nbsp;And actually, I really don't want this to be a business, because then I might start worrying about what people thought about me and the way I run this place. &nbsp;This way I don't feel like I'm losing a dime if someone leaves here in a big huff over something, and I kind of like it that way.

Heck, the way traffic has been increasing on this site, I may have to start thinking about ways to chase people away anyway so I don't exceed my bandwidth limits on my server.

So in conclusion, either you can wait until I have the time and inclination to post the report, or not. &nbsp;If you choose 'not', then I really can't think of a damned thing you can do about it anyway.

To do what I am suggesting is completely contrary to the idea of me posting this here (So, yes I see the irony of my post), but I can think of no other way to get this point accross. &nbsp;

This thread keeps getting brought up tot he top by people who either don't know the full story, or have some need to see that report. &nbsp;OK. &nbsp;I understand both of those areas of inquisitiveness. &nbsp;However, NOTHING is going to be accomplished by keeping it up here other than to encourage others to ask more questions.

The WebSlave is going to post the report (or not) whenever he feels like it (or doesn't). &nbsp;So, what if we all just allow this thread to drift back down to the bottom of the BOI like it ought to do? &nbsp;Then, when/if the WebSlave does decide to post the report, it will be something new to digest and discuss, but we won't be constantly harping on something that is just not there yet before hand.

I'm not jumping on anyone over this. &nbsp;It's just that there is nothing new here, and bringing it up again and again only encourages more of the same. &nbsp;We ought to let this sleeping dog lie (or is that "let this lying dog sleep?"), IMHO.

If you don't agree post away. &nbsp;If you do agree, you can show your agreement by NOT responding to this. &nbsp;I know I won't until that report is posted (if it ever is).
