Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

An unknown fly with red eyes...???
Hello,
I really don't have any idea about the family, genus and species of this little fly over an echinacea flower...
Any ideas???
Which picture do you prefer???

Oups ! I forgot to mention that this fly was photographied in Sherbrooke Quebec (near Vermont/Maine)...

At a total loss here . it looks to be one of the many flies seen on carrion or doggy doo. Was the pic taken in the morning cause that would explain why it is on a flower, unless it was taken during the day and it was nectar feeding

It is a fly from the Calliphoridae family...
It is Lucilia sp.
