Rosy Boa yearling digestion temp

After a storm hit Dallas Texas yesterday at least 150,000 people are without power. Its feeding day for my yearling rosy boa and her enclosure is about 76. We may not have power again today and Im wondering if I should go ahead and feed her. I usually turn up her belly temp to 92 after she eats but it looks like her enclosure will remain about 76 or higher for the next 24 hours at least until we get power. Ive already thawed and warmed her mouse Or Id just wait to feed her until tomorrow. This is my first snake (had her one month) and Im new to the forum. Id appreciate any advice. Thank you!

It's better to wait. Snakes can go a long time without eating without any ill effect, but feeding at low temps, you risk a regurge, which can be seriously harmful.

Thanks for the reply. I threw away the warmed mouse in hopes that we will have power tomorrow.

Elena is quite correct. Your yearling snake can go two or three months without eating, with no ill effects at all. Adult rosies can, and do voluntarily, go off food for even longer during breeding season.

That’s good news since I’m hearing we may not have power until Thursday. I feel better. Thank you!
