New To The Site

Hi all I'm new to the site, and have just found this forum. This is a pic of my chameleon which I got yesterday.

I have some questions. How many Crickets/Locusts do you feed your panther Chameleon?

Can you tell from the pic if my Panther Chameleon is male or female?

Thank you.

Well.... to differentiate a male from a female panther..... look at the base of the tail, if there is a thickening on the base of the tail.... it is a male... no thickening... is a female... how old is your chameleon? I usually feed mine about 5 -7 crickets...mine chameleon is about 4-5 months old... about 8-9 inches in length!!

\I'm not sure how old the chameleon is but she/he is about 10 inch long. I don’t feed my Chameleon crickets, the pet shop owner said to feed it locusts instead. So at a guess I would say feed 2/3 locusts a day?

Combination of feeder insect will be advisable..sometimes chameleon get bored with just one kind of insect... btw did you feed your chameleon with matured adult locust? if thats the case 2-3 it should be fine i guess... because their stomach is not that large either... by feeding them too much ..will do no good either!!

So have you determine the sex of your chameleon yet?? By saying thickening on the base of the tail i mean that the portion of the tail behind the vent is robust and is out of portion when you look at the rest of the tail!

Sorry i could not tell you the sex of your chameleon because you have you thumb covered the most important area to determine the sex!!! ahahah... thats the base of the tail which your thumb covered in the pic!!
