A complaint about a face to face transaction where the buyer had a chance to inspect is not likely to bring any police action, nor will it get anyone locked up. It is a civil matter.
That said, I hope the buyer can get in touch with the seller. I would like to see the original ad, I wonder whether previous ads are still posted anywhere.

Yea I know. Hopefully this seller doesn't know. Hopefully knowing his wife and child are all over the internet now tied to his name because of a scam will push him to do the right thing.

Thanks for the help. So far I have heard nothing. I doubt he will do the right thing, I'm guessing he will think twice before doing anything like this again. I am grateful for those that have helped so far. I can't believe how quickly he was identified. I guess I need work on my internet investigative skills.

I wonder if his wife knows what he is doing? She may be involved and just as bad as him or she could be totally innocent. Maybe if some people messaged her would get a response from him!
