Winston...You be CRACKERS, my man! See, that's one of the few downsides of putting your real, full name on these threads...ya gotta BE CAREFUL what you say, or it MIGHT come back to bite you in the butt! The people here are absolutely correct...you can ONLY ship mammals ONE OF TWO WAYS!! ....PROPERLY PACKED, PAPERED AND LABELLED CARGO!, or ...STICK A STAMP ON THEIR BUTT AND GIVE THEM DIRECTIONS!! ....
Just a heads-up from ALL of us! ....Neil

I have had success in shipping via US Air before.  I am not sure about their current policies but as of 12/01 they were excepting harmless reptiles (including snakes).  The only drawback was that their service is only "counter to counter" unless you want to pay a small fortune.

I just shipped with US Air, the top service is called PDQ (package delivered quick) and it goes counter to counter. I wasn't a known shipper with them, the good thing is you don't have to be. You must leave the package open for them to inspect it, cost me $62.00 for about ten lbs. and they said that price is for up to 50 lbs.

The good thing is a runner takes it from the counter to the plane and someone else does the same at it's destination. You must go to the ticket counter (be respectful of other passengers fear of snakes when in the terminal, keep the box in a bag or covered) to pick up and drop off though. I didn't have to wait on line, (there was a two hour wait when I got there) they said go right to the counter and they took me right away. You can also write on the box live harmless reptiles because it's legal shipping which is a plus.

It was also a 45 min. layover with PDQ compared to 4 or 5 hour layovers with their cargo shipments and it rides in a pressurized, climate controlled cabin. I sent GTP babies from NJ to Fla and they arrived fine. I highly recommend it until we get some other methods worked out. I'm also on the waiting list for Delta Dash to come and inspect me, you get on a waiting list and they just come out and look at your facility to make sure you are actually breeding reptiles. They told me it's that easy to become a known shipper with them again, and yes it can be your house. Hope this helps.
