Jerry Conway - Unethical Practices

In retrospect, I feel that I should have waited to post this. I know that he has some health problems going on and would hate it if this added additional stress to an already stressful situation that may be coming up next week for him. It is not so much about the money and I am not trying to get anything so the timeframe was virtually irrelevant other than it was fresh and I felt both of us could answer questions more accurately.

amazing....how people come out of the reptile woodwork to trash someone with a good reputation because some guy thinks he is holier than thou.....its incredible how rumors get started in here.....i dont even know most of the people that just trashed me....there are people on this site trashing each other over a 5 dollar discrepancy from 10 years ago....i find it to be ludicrous....are you all that perfect?....i seriously doubt it.....bottom line is that once a transaction is completed, the buyer, which was me, can do whatever they want with the animals....we are here to make money...in addition to providing care for the well being of the animals in question....its the american way to negotiate and try to get a lower price....dont you people try to talk someone down on the price before you agree on the final sale?.....get real.....people worldwide, respect my knowledge of candoia....they are willing to pay a bit more because it comes with my expertise attached....as far as the guy with the $75 price quote....he wanted a light phase single specimen....i had found a few small anoles and the snake that he wanted had already eaten....i use ups shipping next day air....ups has raised their price once again as of january first....the box i was planning to use would have cost me approximately $60 - $75 to ship....i stand by my actions....i did nothing wrong.....i have large medical bills to pay....i need to look out for number one....its nobodys business what i do with the animals i have just bought....period....and in closing....thanks bw....you have done nothing to ruin my good reputation....all you have done was to give some other people something to vent about in here on a boring sunday afternoon....i think you are an uppity pompous ass....enjoy your day up on your high ethical horse .......jc

It doesn't matter to anyone (from a business standpoint) what the hell the money goes to, be it your great aunt passed away or you have an undying porn addiction. But, you expect people to understand your situation because you have "medical bills" (extraneous business information), yet when someone like Smith tried to be a nice guy, and sell you animals for the cost of shipping because they weren't feeding (something above and beyond the call in my opinion for the sheer volume of 31 babies he sent you), you selfishly say you'll use them to restock your own collection and breeders, yet you turn around and resell them on kingsnake. This lowballing BS about being a New Yorker is nonsense. No one cares -- it's like me saying I killed a guy because I'm from the inner city. The ends don't justify the means. You did everything wrong you could have here; you lied about the snakes' intent (you tell someone you're going to use the snakes for one thing, then you do with them another, after someone as nice as BW sends you things for free); and you say people "respect" your opinion.

What's worse is, after three pages of giving you a chance to tell your side, you used the majority of your post to berrate the guy posting about your unethical behaviour. GET REAL MAN, as you'd say.

No, but apparently you are! I guess not knowing people (or saying you don't know them for the sake of ease in opting out of the argument) makes their opinions void of you. I guess we shouldn't discuss things like business practices or sales because, hey -- we don't the people selling things personally. People are and should be allowed to express freedom of speech when it comes to things like this. Be happy the guy you dealt with is a softy, because had you dealt with someone else who's not quite so tolerant of your greedy efforts, your rep would probably suffer a bigger fall. And if this didn't hurt your GREAT REPUTATION Mr. Conway, why did you respond at all? Caught up in your own string of hypocrisy and self doubt? Looks like we are too.

As per my meticulous nature, I was documenting the details of our transaction. After completing the 3 page document, I opted that a post on the Board Of Inquiry detailing the situation was not unwarranted. All of your feedback on the BOI is positive thus far, so one leaning negative is not bad. It is quite long and detailed but I encourage you to address it at your convenience so that your side is well documented. Again, this is not meant to be personal and I sincerely hope that you do not view this as an attack. It is more a narrative of events and my interpretations of the events.

I am sorry if you feel that you have been slighted in some way by my sharing of my experiences. Your tone certainly has become much more aggressive that yesterday on the phone even though it is the same topic and the same information. I feel certain that I made the right choice to officially sever association.

Look at it this way: BW Smith could actually be making up most of the "facts" in his post regarding the deal. But, you have yet to disprove anything with proof, and have opted to use 100% of posting space for childish name-calling and disrespect in general. Anyone reading this thread has already said, "F*** that" and is moving on to another vendor.

i will try and make this my last post, but you people keep coming out of the woodwork to attack me....bw gave me 31 babies for free...and sold me the adult pair for $300....done deal....what i sell them for or do with them is nobodys business but mine....think about it....do people ask you what you do with your animals after you complete a deal?....do they follow up to see what price you sell them for?....do they care if you trade or sell them?.....no....but he has put me in a position to defend myself for no reason....i think its very low of him to do this....and all you people are jumping on his bandwagon....it truly amazes me.....think of me what you will....i have other things on my mind.....jc
