I AM JUST WONDERING WHAT THIS IS AND IS IT WORTH ANYTHING. I KNOW ITS A TURTLE, HAHA. SO PLESE DON'T REPLY WITH, ITS A TURTLE.

Not sure what kind it is but if it is a wild one you found, you may be in for fines and jail time depending upon your states indigenous species collecting/keeping laws.

Well I guess that you could say that it is wild caught. I actually saved his life yesterday as I got it off of a busy road. Just put him in the back of the truck so my daughter could see him, now we are going to go let him go at a pond next to my house.

I am pretty sure it an old slider( what species Im not sure). I have seen many old yellow bellied sliders here that look like that. Mainly the males.

Honestly, I dont believe its a morph at all. A lot of the old sliders and cooters turn black like that. I have never seen a young slider/cooter that was "black Phased", but I have seen a ton of old sliders/cooters that turned black with old age.

i would agree with the old/dark red eared slider or like 10% chance of it being a very odd map turtle (but unlikely)


And TX laws says you can keep it.
