Only saw this on CNN yesterday, but it is a movie due to release in August, starring Samuel L. Jackson (how low can he go ?). The trailers indicate that the movie did not miss a single absurdity. Here's the story line from a movie website:
Plot Outline: On board a flight over the Pacific Ocean, an assassin, bent on killing a passenger who's a witness in protective custody, lets loose a crate full of deadly snakes.
My initial fears were that this would have to do with an irresponsible shipper, which may still be a part of it, but I was somewhat comforted that it was the "deliberate act of an assassin". Works for me! In any case, I think we can expect some human interest stories as the release date nears of real life snake escapes on planes etc. I am trying to imagine the movie promoters on a "this could really happen" campaign? I want to believe that it won't generate any legitimate fall-out, as some of the visuals made "Anaconda" look realistic, but if there is any reaction, I also would not expect it to be an "under-reaction". From what I could tell, all the snakes that were "killed" were computer generated. If you Google it, there's a blog and a bunch of other stuff. I might have to wait for the DVD.
