Laos Trip

I'm going to Laos in a couple of weeks and was wondering if anyone can help me with knowing what snakes to look for and which to be careful of if I do see? I know some of the obvious ones like retics and cobras. Thanks for any help and I will post pics of any that I do encounter.

Well I am back from Laos. I didnt really get a chance to go into the jungle but still seen a few wild snakes, lizards and frogs. I also saw a bunch that the locals were selling at markets. The spider in this group of pictures was about the size of a dinner plate.

I wanted to get a better picture of the frog but it escaped before I got a chance to. I found it in my van from Luang Phabang back to Veintienne. I also seen burmese skin used in the instrument covering, but was unable to get a picture.

These were all found around the house I stayed in.

The first three were taken in a rice paddy behind the house I stayed in. We also saw a water snake and a different type of dragon but they were both too quick for me to get a picture. I did almost fall in some nasty water trying, however.

In the previous post the top picture is a bin of frogs one of the neighbors had. The middle two are from the rice fields. The last one is of elephant tusks at the local market.
