Talk about blowing what someone said out of proportion. There's a difference between endorsing husbandry methods you approve of but don't actually use yourself and endorsing methods which you feel are wrong and/or inadequate for the animal.
If you don't like tanks, or think they're inappropriate for snakes, then don't suggest using them, explain why they're bad and suggest a better alternative. Just don't suggest it, knowing you think it's inadequate, and then defend it by saying it's what people want to hear, doing that just perpetuates the problem.

In hindsight I did word it a little strongly when I said "but anyone with such limited experience in an area who presumes to be capable of offering advice in any form is foolish".
Anyone with an understanding of the basics is capable of offering advice to someone with even less experience.
I suppose a pet peeve of mine colored my comments when I said that. I see people who've had a snake a couple of months on forums regurgitating something they read themselves last week as if it was from their own experience, and someone who just got into a given species publishing a care sheet caused the same reaction.

Thanks for the clarification, I understand what you are saying now.
*I am not going to explain further on this, because it would come across as defending.

To your last paragraph, I understand.
