I believe that means you don't spray the tub and then just put the snake back in the tub without substrate. I spray the tub or cage (per picture posted before) when it is empty. Then I let it sit for 24-48 hours to fully air and dry out. Then I put the substrate in, small water bowl, a perch if needed and the reptile. I only use paper towels as substrate when using PAM, makes it easy to see the mites.

as long as you have allowed the PAM to fully air and dry out, it should not be a problem. Of course, if the water bowl is tipped, good idea to change out the substrate. You shouldn't need to respray. Good question though. If you are not sure if all the mites are gone, re-treat in another 3-4 weeks just to be sure. I've never had to do that though.
Hope this helps a bit.
