I don't know what type of lizards you are referring to, but I personally don't know of any lizard that will eat birdseed. Some use it as a substrate, however.

Captive uros’ diets must be predominantly herbivorous, consisting of endive, dandelion greens, Bok Choy, kale, vegetables, and suitable blossoms. Uros usually favor dandelion, hibiscus, and nasturtium leaves and blossoms. Fresh beans, wild bird seed, peas, melon, banana, and pelleted alfalfa can be added to their diet.

Uromastyx love bird seed as a good treat. I give mine some about once a week. smaller seeds like parakeet, so that you dont have to worry about them choking on the seeds (like sunflowers etc)

so as a treat it is nice. ^_^ and then all the other stuff barbie said too! They Love hunting dandylions outside LOL

Wow, I never knew that Uros actually eat that stuff! Neat, I learned something new again today....

I would guess that it would be kept just as an occasional "treat" and not a mainstay of the diet, though?

I think they eat mainly veggies and these are great treats.
I do not have a uromastyx, my brother used to talk about his all the time and that is why I knew the bird seed answer. I thought it was so odd for a lizard to eat bird seed.
