Rescue, or herpin on my way to work?

I found this guy on my way to work, he was crossing the street in the down town area. I relocated him after work in this new home, I think it is a bit better than where he was.

Great work!

Probably kept him from getting crushed by a car.

I wonder what you with him all day while you were at work?

Good for you, Bobby.

My Mom called me the other day, she was SO proud of herself, she had found one sitting on the road, and in her words, "he was a big mother" lol, said he had to have been at least 18" in diameter....she managed to get him off the road and down to a much safer location. She knew I'd be impressed with her, lol.

Yea, sometimes our wild friends need a helping hand, I doubt he would have made it with the direction he was heading. He was heading for a very busy four lane and I do not think that was where he needed to go.

I work at Days Inn, and I am a supervisor, so there were not any people that could say too much...

I put him into a big rubbermaid tub, and let him stay in our tool room. It was dark and cool in there, so he just had to hang out a few hours until I left for home. I went home and grabbed my camera to get some pictures and headed to his new home far from the hustle of the city. I think he will be happy in his new lake now, and maybe he will stop being a city snapper, lol.

Way to go Mr. Hill. I love the part about it not being a city turtle any longer.
My wife informed me tonight that our herping season is starting. She moved her first Crotalus viridis off the road on her way home tonight.
