snake escapee problem

Hi one of my reticulated pythons has escaped it got out last night when i was with my friends i have looked everywere it seems. last night i put a bowl of hot water in the middle of the room thinking he might go in it to soak but unfortunately that didnt work. So i need some ideas on how to catch this little bugger. I was thinking get a shoe box and tie a string to it and on the other side of the string have a mouse tied to the string so once the snake is done eating it is trapped. tell me if u guys have any better ideas thier extremely appreciated.

Yeah just rip your snake room apart looking for it. Then when you don't find it wait about 6 months and it will show up. That has been my luck anyhow, and my wife usually finds them...

The thing is to keep looking in dark places every now and then. There are snake traps but not boxes with mice on a string or whatever. Snake traps are somewhat akin to minnow traps so once in it cannot get out.

Good luck,
Glenn B

Great news!!

Glad you found it

Now, maybe you can address what caused the escape in the first place and fix the problem. The first rule of keeping any reptile (especially large constrictors) is providing them with a secure enclosure. In other words, completely eliminating that chance of escape. It's not that difficult, and I'm sure many of us here would be more than willing to help in any way we can Let us know your set-up, or what you think may have happened, so you can be assured you won't have to go through this again.
