Yeah. the cats have a healthy respect for my boa...but a full grown Dry is alot different than a boa. I will just have to be aware of the surrounding area when i handle her later on.

Re: Indigo Price Range

Eastern Indigos tend to range from $800-1000 for a hatchling. This year there have been a greater than average number of yearlings and subadults available for reasonable prices as well. If you've never kept one, I'd recommend raising one from a hatchling. That's a lot of fun, and the best way to raise a really good pet.

Other indigo species that you see around are the black tailed cribos (~$300 each), Texas Indigos ($800-900 each), yellow tailed cribos ($400-1000), unicolor cribos (prices vary) and red tailed cribos (pretty rare). These can all make great pets as well, although the yellow tails are a bit less calm, at least as youngsters.

Re: Indigo Price Range

At the risk of telling you something that you probably already know, I should also point out that indigos aren't super cheap snakes to keep compared to others. They need pretty large cages as adults and eat considerably more than your average colubrid. You're also going to spend a lot of time cleaning cages. I think that they're the best snakes to keep, though. They have all the attributes I look for in a snake (beauty, intelligence, docile nature, and overall COOLNESS). If you're thinking about getting an indigo and would like to read about how I keep mine, feel free to check out my website.

They are. I do like them and have seen them listed occasionally but they never have the red throats like the easterns. At least I have never seen them like that.
