Western hognose laid eggs! Help!
I have an interesting story to tell.
I have been collecting alot of western hognoses and have been planning on breeding them in the futre. I had a couple but they were all too young so I decided to purchase a adult female and male. I got them only two weeks ago and the male ate everytime I tried to feed him but the female would not eat. She was also restless and unusually very active. I had a small feeling she could possibly be gravid so just incase I but a humid hide in her vivarium. Well this morning I looked in her cage and saw her in the humidity hide with eggs everywhere! I was astonished.
If anyone has experience with incubating hognose eggs all help will be appreciated.
So for now I left all the eggs untouched in the humid hide (a small sterilite container with moss in it) and I inserted this inside a larger sterilite container with damp coconut fiber. It also has a heat pad underneath connected to a thermostat at about 83 degrees. Would this work well as an incubator?
