Is my Boa Gravid???

Ok this is going to sound alittle funny but i have a male boa. i bought another boa from a local kid and he said its a male also. i put both snakes together in the same cage and its been 2 weeks now and my male i had has been courting the other boa like crazy. friday i notice the new boa is really swollen up and i havent fed it for 10 days now and tonight its still swollen up. i took some pics tonight to show everyone. both snakes are the same roundness till friday when this happened. the swelling is starting to go down slowly compaired to friday. could the new boa be a female???? i have no probes or anything like that to check.

let me know what you all think. you can get the .zip file with 3 pics at the link below

Not gravid, but looks like she is ovulating. I will attach the pics for you. Keep them together and you may end up with some babies by the end of the year.

Yeah Keep them togeather !!!!

Your almost there.

That's Just what Micheal said...Pre Ovulation Swell.

The egg folicles are maturing and getting big.

When they mature and she is still being courted and copulates with a male they will

move down into the ovuducts to get fertilized.

That is Ovulation !!!!

That is how it works.

Or at least that's what the BOOK said.LOL.

I've made mistakes and pulled the male out too soon.

So keep him in there.Good Luck.

Here's the Classic "Football / Ate the cat " Ovulation.

First you keep him in there.

Wait for her to Ovulate.

About a one or two weeks after she will Shed.

After she sheds and the male shows no interst then you can finally take him out.

From the day she sheds her skin count 105 days.

That is her due date.

She may go early or go up to two weeks after her due date.

Good Luck.
