Snake ID--Prairie King, Emory, or Slowinski?
or intergrade?
I just caught this one today (Friday 1-22-10) in NW Harris County (Houston), TX.
As you will notice it has a small head for an Emory's Rat. It's about two feet long and a little skinny. I am going to fatten it up and probably let it go. It hasn't tried to bite me yet or even give me a warning except when I first caught it, in a very swampy area.
I have looked and looked and compared and they all look the same to me pretty much, except for the belly scales on this one are not distinctly marked like a lot of others I have seen.
