I understand where you're coming from with the tongue-flicking, but considering the very recent trauma, that may go hand-in-hand with the tail twitching.

Did you notice any changes this morning??

Exactly my point.

When, or if, it comes time for a vet, that could play a role in a proper diagnosis. Things like that, reaction to movement, whether it's seeing correctly, could mean the difference between head, or spine trauma.

He's laying in his cage on the cool side favoring the left side still. I don't want to move him in case there is spinal trauma, but head trauma is a very real possibility. I have no idea if his head was slammed into anything during the altercation, but given where he was grabbed by Art, I would not be surprised.

My worker's comp check came in today and I got an appointment on Monday to see my vet. I'll update the thread when I get more info after the visit.

Well, I checked in on Icarus today since I largely left him alone after yesterday morning and it's not looking too good.

He was lying with his body leaning to one side, as he has been, but his head was angled in a weird "kinked" looking sort of way.

I pulled down the door to get a better look at him and he did not acknowledge my presence at all.

I moved the tray inside his cage and, again, no acknowledgement.

I moved the newspaper he was laying on a bit and, again, no acknowledgement.

I gently ran my finger over his back and he moved only the lower part of his tail, flicked his tongue once and appeared to be struggling to move his upper neck. I still do not see any distinctive swelling in any part of his body and he has still kept the rat he ate down which is causing me to, regrettably, lean more towards potential neurological damage.

His breathing seems even and I am hoping he will make it to tomorrow so I can get him to his vet. appointment.

Yeah, me too. I'm losing sleep over it and I'm frustrated with myself for not removing him before I pulled the rats to thaw.

Do his pupils dilate with a light shone in them? Is it fast? Both eyes the same? Does he "look" at movement, and just not move his body?

His left eye is dialating and constricting slowly according to light source. I do not want to move his head to check the other one. The eyes move based on movement, so he is acknowledging my presence to an extent. But his lack of tongue flicking concerns me because he is naturally a very curious, in your face sort of boa and always flicking his tongue.
