Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

BAD GUY Charles Schuck CSReptiles
I had the misfortune of dealing with Charles Schultz in a trade. Mr Schultz and I agreed to trade a pair of Red Blood Pythons that I had, for a 100% het for albino female ball python that he had. The agreement was for me to ship out my pythons on a Friday to arrive on a Saturday. He was to ship the female back to me on the following Saturday. He confirmed that he received the pythons fine. I have never received anything back from him except for excuses and lies. He told me that he didn't make the firs shipment time due to being sick, and then having to work overtime to catch up. The next excuse was that he was getting grief for the trade from his partner. I talked to him on the phone and he said he was shipping the animal out the next day. I didn't hear from him for another week. I have tried calling him at home, cell, and work. He hears my voice and hangs up. I have emailed him at his personal email and his work email. He finally responed back to me 2 weeks ago, and stated that he would not be sending the female snake, but would send me money for my pythons. He did not ask what I wanted for them, just decided he would send what he though they were worth. I told him what price I had them listed at. He told me that he had already sent me the check, and would send another check at the end of that week for the additional $100. That was 17 days ago. I have not received any money at all. He sent me an email stating he would cancel the previous check, "since it was missing", and overnight me another check. I still have not seen any of these "checks in the mail", and he will not return my email nor answer my calls. I have had many experiences at trading with people on Fauna, this is by far the worst. He makes no effort to try to correct the problem.

My suggest.....do a revers phone look up on his work phone. Once you find out who his employer is, start making some phone calls. Nothing like the risk of losing employment to motivate someone.

Sadly enough he shares the name of one of the greatest cartoon writers of all times.
Sorry to hear about your misfortune Aaron. Just remember that there are still a lot of good honest herp enthusiasts out there, don't let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch!
Kindly,

You identified him as someone on Fauna...what is his name on this site? I couldn't find anything under CSReptiles here. Does he know about this thread?

Here is my 2 cents.
Send him an invoice for the snake and the cost of shipping. We both know that he will not pay, but you have proof of sale, and proof of shipment. Either take him to small claims court or get an attorney in his state. I know it may sound a bit of an overkill, but you can raise the value of the snake to make it more of a problem on his end if he does not pay up.
Stay away from trades!

I wouldn't go as far as to stay away from trades completely....but I would advise to make sure you do your research first and know who you are trading with. There are a lot of folks here on Fauna that I wouldn't think twice about trading with...even shipping first. (I'm not going to name names, because there are a lot, and I don't want to leave anyone out and hurt any feelings, lol)
As far as a trade with someone I don't know.....well, if it was something I REALLY wanted, and got a favorable response from folks here that have done business with them before, I might....but someone who I don't know, and I can't find any reliable references for them.......forget it.
Trades can be an awesome way to get something, if done right, IMO. Unfortunately, it didn't happen the way it was supposed to in this case.

Your probably correct about
trading with some people whom you may feel very comfortable with, and I am sure their are rewards for a variety of reasons, but most trades are lured by the worst reasons. This is a case in point. Regretably , most of these types of trades always favor one person either by trickery, or theft.
So, my thinking is never trade unless you can see what you are trading for. In this particular case, its fraud. I would even consider filing a complaint with the Police in this persons area as well as the FBI for Internet fraud.

Maybe it's because we mostly learn about the trades that go bad. I personally traded (partially) only once with a well-nown individual (in Fauna and elsewhere) and ended very well I want to think that for both. Wouldn't hesitate to do it again but with a select few. Even when done with the best intentions it always implies a health risk for the animals.
