Angry Milksnake killed "the only good snake is a dead snake"

Anyone from this New Hampshire community want to explain, intelligently to these fools, why it makes no rational sense to kill any snake one comes across, and that snakes don't 'go after' people?

The person who declares they don't care what they did at all then has the nerve to berate snake owners for raising rodents to feed their pets and for 'keeping wild animals'. The ignorance just keeps piling up.

Someone shared this with me but left the group, and they keep ignoring me when I said to post this link (if you can't see the Facebook page, some of the asinine comments are here: http://captiveanimallogic.blogspot.c...e-killing.html

I can't join the group because I'm not in that area.

If you want to change someone's mind, the first thing is to listen, really listen, to what they have to say.
Irrational comments may be the product of what they might have heard in their childhood, or an event that frightened them and subsequent growth of fear when no one explained the event.
Calling them fools or berating them even if they are berating you is only going to escalate the situation and not change anyone's point of view.
Listen.
Try to understand.
Then start a non judgmental (hard as that might be) dialogue.
Once that person sees that you are listening, they may talk more, and maybe, after talking themselves out, and seeing that you are trying to understand, they may take a moment to listen to you.
That is the start. Nurture that start and you may after several conversations have someone who tries to understand you as much as you tried to understand them.

Unfortunately that's all I've been doing. I'm unable to comment on the thread. I think there's only one reason people act this way around reptiles, irrational fear. Our culture does a fine job of creating negative images of certain species. If there is no exposure of the truth, ignorance will prevail.

That might work in some instances, but from what I have seen over the years, most fools are bound and determined to remain fools no matter what. Facts contrary to their ignorant opinions are completely irrelevant.

I'd have to agree. The guy simply stated he does not care about snake education, point blank. The girl who tried to reason with him was mostly courteous (at the start).
