Imo, anything labeled as BCI is just a mutt now days. It's become nothing more than a catch all phrase for a non locale specific boa.

Real pastels have a clean up affect on their offspring, they're like the magic eraser of the boa world.

April, a warning would be nice before you post that sharp girl of yours, my keyboard doesn't handle drool well.

Anyways, he's pretty & I vote clean CA mutt

I can assure you this isnt a bcc from guyana or peru.... It's hard to say much more about it than it's a bci....

you can't take guesses about provenance nowadays with all of the mixed breeding going on. People are constantly breeding CA's to Colombians ...

Better to just call it a bci and leave it at that..... guessing a locality doesnt ever do anything but create false standards in the industry

but so if it's a columbian x CA it is still a BCI correct?

Correct. CA's and Columbians are both BCI's

Colombian Anery (note the lack of the letter U in Colombian)

Colombian Albino (lacking that U again)

Aberrant Colombian (<-----still no U in Colombian no matter how hard I try)

The latter big girl being the only one I don't know for sure is pure Colombian.

Point is, Colombians have circles too. Not all of them, but they are indeed there on many. The circles you find on CA Boa tend to be much more tighter and rounder, where Colombian tend to have a little more length to their circles, because they tend to have less saddles then CA Boa. Same as BCC with Circles, they tend to have even more elongated circles then most, because of their low saddle count.

In my opinion anyway. I ain't that smart though. I'm smart enough to keep myself broke feeding Boas for the last 30 years.

Also IMO, that Boa in the pictures above is a Colombian, or at least part Colombian. Girth, pattern, head markings, tail, and color, all scream Colombian to me.

But that's just a guess not knowing it's history.
