Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Kingsnake.com......what can you say....
There are a lot of people that disagree with the way he runs his site, but I feel the need to give thanks where thanks are due. Everybody has this image of Jeff as being a money grubbing dictator on his site, but I tell you, my experiences with him have been nothing but pleasant. Of course he has terms of service on his site.....THEY ALL DO. It is next to impossible to make EVERYONE happy ALL THE TIME.
My experience has been with dealing with the Tri-State Herp Society and the reptile shows we sponsor. A year ago, while trying to find information about web hosting for the society, I inquired about having Kingsnake.com host it. Jeff informed me that herp societies are hosted for FREE......on probably THE largest reptile related site in cyberspace. Just this past month, I have been running banner ads on the site FREE. He puts all herp society related ads on a "comp" rotation, taking up the empty space where there are no paid ads. In fact, just to do some research, I decided to go ahead and PAY for an ad as well. Jeff actually tried to convince me that it was unnecessary. I did it, and found that the FREE ads did better than the paid ad.
Say what you will about the man's business ethics and how he runs his site and makes money, but the service that he provides to the non-profit organizations shows me that he is sincere and generous. I have all but memorized his TOS for classifieds and forums, and feel that they are in the best interest of the community and the success of kingsnake.com. After all, the overhead for a site that large must be huge. Jeff does his best to protect HIS interests, which in turn protects the interest of the rule abiding users of such a remarkable tool. If it weren't for kingsnake.com, I would've never had the opportunity to chat with people like Dr. Brian Greg Fry (toxicologist) Wulfgang Wuster (taxonomist) Richard Wells (taxonomist) or any of the knowledgable amateur herpers throughout the world.
Kingsnake.com is not a free for all in any sorts. It's like having ALL herpers worldwide invited to a picnic in Jeff's backyard. I don't know about you, but out of respect, I don't plan on digging holes in the yard he provided.
Thanks all

You know, I have to agree with you. Jeff has done alot for the herp community by providing us with kingsnake.com. He has put a lot of time and effort into this sucker and I think we all need to give him a thanks and a pat on the back.
I know there are some people who have a problem with the way he does things, but they have to look at it this way: it is HIS site, HIS rules and if YOU don't like it, well you can go some place else.
And just incase Jeff does read this BOI....
Jeff, thank you for kingsnake.com!

Yep, for sure. spam_Jeff is a straight shooter and has a great site. spam_With over 6 million hits, I'm pretty sure he's well ahead of the 11th most popular reptile site by far for every month.
I met him in Chicago last year for the first time. spam_Very cool to meet him and chatted for a long time about everything. spam_ He walked me through a ton of computer stuff when it came time to upload my site. spam_Info that he didnt have to share but took the time to get me started off on the right foot. spam_
Even today, we still talk and share great words. spam_He has never done me wrong and is a class act as far as I'm concerned.
Keep up the good work Jeff B.

I have to agree I have done buisness on his site for a few years no, spoke with him over the phone many many times. Last year I had the pleasure of metting him in Chicago and really enjoyed talking to him. IMO his site and what he does are one of the greatest ascets the reptile community has. He puts up with alot of crap but even in the midsts of all that he has still been a great pleasure to speak with and do buisness with. All I can say is Jeff thanks for the greatest rep site on the net and everything you have done for the herp world!!!!!!
And to those of you who dissagree FOLLOW THE RULES!!!!!!

I agree, I read kingsnake and Faunaclassifeds daily. Each site has its own plusses and minuses and I would imagine you could get the owner of each site riled up if you didn't follow their rules.
Its just too bad the KS doesn't have a place where you can go and say thing like this.

So...."Boaguy12".....wish I knew you name.....
Is what your saying to mean that you don't agree that Jeff is good to Herp Societies? Well, which one do you belong to? HAve you attempted to contact Jeff about hosting your societies site?
Or are you just here to complain because you happened to post the url of a competitors site, which is strictly against the rules? Hmmmmm.......figures that the only people with problems are the ones that don't know how to follow rules....you know like the FULL NAME RULE?<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>??
anyway,

I'm a member of both sites, and regular on rtb. However, I will go to bat for Jeff without hesitation here.
I am willing to bet that you personally are not banned from kingsnake, John. It is merely the url "redtailboa.net" that is blocked. This is because, whether or not we like to admit it, rtb is competition for kingsnake's business. Even though rtb is a nonprofit site, it is still a business competitor.
The isssue of blocking the rtb url isn't one of jealousy or insecurity on Jeff's behalf. It is merely a sound business decision. Look at it this way... if you owned a business, would you want someone who offered much of the same services (but for free) to post the name of their organization in your place of business for all of your customers to see?

The point was, John, you said something to teh effect of "O would have to dissagree on this one." Well, this one is about how Jeff has helped MANY herp socieities get their foot in on the internet.
Therefore, by saying you dissagree, I assumed that you meant about the herp society subject.
Apologies,
Todd Evans
