Got some EXCELLENT shots!

I discovered the trick to macros with my camera......use a tripod and the remote....lol My hands are too shaky... Anyway...also found a cool new "background." Let me know what y'all think!!!

Ok...I'm just going to put links in for the photos...b/c I have them on webshots so they can be full size...because they just look a thousand times better as full size...but they are HUMONGOUS...so they wouldn't work very well in a thread...anyway, here are the links!

Here's one I accidentally shrank while editing ( ) to give you an idea of what to expect from the rest Most of them are just head shots though.

I've found that Webshots can kinda suck if you are trying to put them onto a forum like this....Photobucket seems to be less problematic for some reason....

You just have to copy-paste the link manually (or hit enter in the address bar after hitting the link).

I really like the reflective background, it's a nice touch. What did you use for the reflection, just a sheet of plexiglass? Background just black fabric/muslin or just a dark area? Do explain your setup (camera, lens, background, etc).

A tripod and the remote definitly helps quite a bit. Most professionals recommend using that setup for ANY macro shots, since the shake is really bad in macro shots (like long telephotos). My only suggestion on the shots is that bringing your perspective down to their height (and not shooting from above) would really make these shots a lot more interesting. Nice crops on the photos though, I like that you got the entire reflection.

I used webshots b/c it doesn't shrink the photos and they look SOOO much better as full size!...just do what brian said and hit enter in the address bar after that message comes up. Also all of the images are on my website (and more... www.reptilesandrenderings.com)...but are not full size.

Brian...all I used was a cheap door mirror that I had laying around, I laid it flat and took the photos....the background just came out black except for their reflections! My goal for the photos was really to photograph the whole animals...that's why the photos are from the higher angles...and I was just too lazy to take the camera off the tripod (I have a little bitty tripod that was on the mirror in front of the geckos) and try to angle it so it would work.......lol I definitely purposely tried to get the whole reflections...the ones that don't have the full reflections were b/c I actually screwed up the photo a little when I took it and missed the full reflection.
