Legal or not?? roaches shipped to fl??

Can someone help answer my q? I've never owned roaches and would like to know if it is legal to have them shipped to FL?? Thanks..

Yes ship your reptiles ships them all the time so does Fedex.

Angie, in the classifieds you're inquiring for a Dubia colony (I'm assuming thats what spawned this thread).

From what I've heard, tropical roaches (or at least some species) are illegal to keep in FL. Due to Florida's subtropical climate, said roaches could thrive if they escape (potentially inflicting damage to the agriculture).

I'm not positive about this, though. The following link is to Florida's Department of Agriculture. You should be able to find what you're looking for there...

I just checked FWC's website www.myfwc.com and I can not find any insects listed as prohibited species. The closest think is most crayfish. I would say you are fine as of right now. I know I have had people offer me colonies for my pet store but I just can't deal with roaches. (I have a hard enough time with crickets )

Sorry Harald I had not noticed where the thread was when I replied and I stand corrected No roaches to Florida anywhere else but stinking Florida!
