While it isn't rated for as many watts as the herpstats, these do have features that isn't offered with herpstats. The ISTAT pulse plus read humidity, temps, and barometric pressure. You also have the option of tempeture control every hour of the day, 24 settings. This not offers a "night drop" but the ability to ramp up temps to simulate a sunrise or set. They also feature a pretty advanced probe and incorporates it into the safety features. If the thermostat ever fails, there is no way it will ever fail in the on position, over heating your eggs or animals.
