Stunted Growth?

Hello, I kind of rescued a male BCI who is supposedly a 2008 but is only 428 grams and like 2 1/2 feet long. I was wondering how much bigger he actually is actually going to get? He is just a pet never a breeder and I really don't mind what size he is at all but I just want to know so I know what size cage he should be in when full grown. I have an empty 4x2 cage but it seems too large if he isn't going to get much bigger....

Do you know what region/locality it's from (Columbian, Nicaraguan, etc etc). That will help determine how big the caging will need to be. Does he look otherwise healthy? Good body mass, no loose skin?

Well, I was told he was Columbian but I will have to get some pics tomorrow and post them to be sure, I think he may be mixed with central American because of his color.. Thanks!

Well, he's more than 2.5' long. Most certainly Colombian. He looks fine to me, in fact a very nice Colombian.

I agree! Nice looking boa, but much bigger than you first described. As far as how big he'll get, plan between 5-8 feet. Males are usually on the lower end of the scale, but you really never know with these guys, especially with no knowledge of the parents. I've got various boas between 4 and 8+ feet in the 4x2 enclosures that you mentioned and they are all fine.

VERY nice! Definitly columbian. Does he have a bright orange belly to go along with that pink head?

Thanks for the help, all No, his belly is not orange, it's an off-white color. I am glad to hear he still has some growin' to do

I would say he is just the right size for an 08. Great looking normal as well.
